Description

I like how the sky came out; the girl is really shabby looking. Wow, for once, I actually like the BG more than the figure XD;; I want to redo the girl when I get the chance.

Great job, I like the wide brush strokes and and the colors used really contribute well to the overall mood. Do you have a larger version?

I love your trademark colour schemes. Lovely movement in this and it took me a while to spot the tiger head in the surf...which is good in my opinion - not too obvious.

Lovely painting.

I like the colours and the tiger face. But the girl in the water seems a little be strange done, the position of it...

I really like the idea. One important crit to me is:
When you paint in a powerfull and direct way, why influence that power by painting the human figure in a cramped, cautious technique..? Just paint that in three or four loose strokes aswell.
The rest is perfect.

Well done, I love the colors of the water and sky. Good work, I can't comment on tech and such since I do not know much about it

Elite, GFXartist sponsor ARTOONATOR - I agree about your crit. I'll try to do that when I redo the girl.

:) Fairly original concept
:) Good colour choices
:| The brushstrokes are good, but maybe a little too loose around the big tiger's head, after all, this is the main focus of the piece
:( As you say, the girl could do with a... I was going to say touch-up, but that could be misconstrued... some work
Nice job
+8/10

I'll agree with Arne and the Baron, and up the ante:

Imagine if you will if the camera was behind the main figure and below the waistline..a worm's eye view....this would really reflect the raw power of the 'Tiger Wave' against the tiny girl....

heh heh...'Tiger Wave' sorry...had a Sagat/Street Fighter II moment

GFXartist sponsor Wysiwyg - Thanks for the suggestion! The angle you described was actually one of the sketches I had for this picture. I chose not to go with it because the 'Tiger Wave' (haha! Now I have Sagat going "Tiger! Tiger!" in my head) seen from the front would be a pain to illustrate. I mean, a regular tiger, sure, but waves turning into a tiger?

It's still a "powerful" image, though, that angle -- as opposed to the somewhat mellow, "beautiful" version I have now. I might give that a try when I learn more about waves to be able to paint them in a detailed, more realistic way, as I feel such a style would complement the image better. :)

Love the loose style and the use of color, there is also a lot of movement and emotion in this painting. Very interesting and easy on the eye. 8/8

I love how the tiger isn't obvious and detailed....it's WATER after all, that's about as picturesque as water should ever get. I'd like to see some detail on what she's holding, at this distance it isn't very possible though. Perhaps, having the girl do something else over there would have been better so that it would be clear to the viewer? A nice perspective behind the girl and seeing the tiger more up close, almost crushing down on her, would have been neat. =)

Top marks though, wonderful execution. Your colors are always amazing
